Chendol Snow Ice $6.00

It's a freaking hot day and I have been shopping for hours, squeezing with sticky human beings. I was craving for something icy cold and melt-in-your mouth dessert to give me the fuel needed for the next few hours of shopping, when I remember my all time favourite - Chendol Snow Ice! My-oh-my... Just the thought of it makes me salivate.

Drop by this shop on a weekend and you are expected to wait for a short while for a seat. But rest assured that the (short) wait is well worth it!

The Chendol Snow Ice arrive with a bottle of melted gula melaka. And for first timer, you might wonder what that black liquid is. It's Liquid Gold, my dear! It's something that you cannot go without when you order this snow ice.

Take the first mouthful without adding anything, and the fragrance of the coconut milk (it's Chendol that's why!) hits your palate when you send the snowy white flakes into your salivating mouth. The taste simply hits the right spot and you go ohhhhhhhhhhh.....

Next, drizzle a little of the Liquid Gold (Gula Melaka) on the snow ice, red bean and the Jellies surronding the ice. Send more of this heavenly dessert into the mouth. I don't have to tell you what to do next. You will probably drizzle more and more (and more and more) of the sweet sweet gold onto the snow ice. Well, that's what I always do. The bottle of Gula Melaka will be half emptied by the time I finish my Chendol Snow Ice, and I am not guilty of that!

It's these little pleasure in life that gets you going. For me, the right dessert gets me going. It makes my day and put a smile on my face. And it's time to hit the malls again!
