Kway Teow with 3 side dishes (Fried Chicken Wing, Tau Kwa and Hash brown) $3.00

There's always this taste and smell that reminds one of their childhood. Be it a simple or complicated dish.

I have one (or perhaps quite a few) too.

I used to stay over at my Granny's house when I was younger. She will always buy this Economical Kway Teow for my breakfast whenever possible. The waking up to my Granny's voice and the aroma of Milo and the Kway Teow is something I will remember for a very long time. I no longer stay over at her house anymore. Now that it has been so many years, the stall selling my favourite Kway Teow is also no longer at the usual spot.

I happened to pass by the Hawker Centre recently and decided to try my luck finding my childhood memory. I was lucky!

The gorgeous, shiny and black Kway Teow seems to be smiling at me from afar. The familiar sweet savoury Kway Teow filled my mouth with a distinct fragrance. The Kway Teow is not those soft and mushy type. It's bouncy with every bite.

You might want to give the Fried Tau Kwa (Fried Beancurd) a try. It's so soft and tender and moist on the inside. One bite into the Tau Kwa and you will taste a slight soya taste, unlike those tasteless Tau Kwa that you might have tried before. It's good to eat even on its own!

I have finally found one of my childhood taste. So what's yours?
