Fishball Minced Meat Noodles $2.50

Noodles oh noodles.... I love noodles. Bee Hoon, Kway Teow, Mee Kia, Spaghetti, La mian...... Except for Mee Pok. I am not sure why, but perhaps it was the first bad experience that had put me off Mee Pok for so long. I tried giving Mee Pok another chance, but time and time again, it failed me. Till this stall.

I was at this stall with my helper and she love fishball noodles (She can have it for almost every meal if she can). So once again (surprise, surprise), she ordered the same old thing. Deciding to give Mee Pok another chance, I took a small mouthful of the noodles. And OMG, Mee Pok swept me off the feet this time.

This Mee Pok did not have the usual floury taste that I hate. It was soft and yet chewy, cooked to the perfection. The flavor of the pork lard was dancing around in my mouth. It was not too spicy and just perfect if you can't take such spicy food.

The fishball was soft but yet bouncy with every bite. The mushrooms were thinly sliced. Tender minced meat and crunchy tau gek (bean sprouts) just adds perfection to this noodle dish.

This bowl of noodles may look plain and simple, but don't underestimate it.
